113d. Off Newport Pagnell Road, Wootton, Northampton Thanks to Darren Ford for locating these Survivors. Along a private road leading to some industrial units are the remains of three GEC Z8431 'Dioptrion' lanterns on Stanton concrete columns. In earlier times, more columns existed on the road but they were later removed; typically, these lanterns were generally in a better condition than those on the surviving installations. The frame of another Dioptrion, along with its smashed bracket, can be seen behind a fence. The corroded brass lamp cap can still be seen in the lampholder. One of the remaining lanterns still retains the top section of its glasswork, and is also fitted with a lamp (albeit the wrong type), however it still will not work as the fuse carrier and time switch are missing from the column base. An interesting 'modification' to each bracket are the two pipework elbows used to convert the top-entry brackets to side-entry.

Sadly, these installations were removed when part of the road was redeveloped for housing in the early 2010s.
