117b. The Malt Shovel Inn, Wirksworth Moor Located within the pub car park just off the Oakerthorpe Road is a Thorn Alpha 1 lantern mounted on a 6M Stanton column. Whilst the lantern could be fitted with a 55W SOX lamp for use at this mounting height, this example is actually fitted with a 90W SOX lamp. The lantern probably no longer works, as a small halogen floodlight is installed lower down the column. Owing to the lantern being located below adjacent tree canopies, the inside of the Opticell is quite grubby.
