12JE. Brockwell Lido, Dulwich Road, Brixton, London Borough of Lambeth. Thanks to Alex Monk for informing me of this Survivor. Positioned adjacent the staircase leading to the Lido is a relatively short Stewart & Lloyd fluted tubular steel column supporting a Simplex Solumbra post-top lantern. The column is likely to pre-date the lantern, although it may be slightly newer than the Lido complex itself, which dates back to 1937.

The modern LED floodlights fitted to the column shaft suggest that Solumbra is no longer operational.

Judging by the yellowing to the lantern's bowl; particularly, towards the top, the lantern may have run a mercury vapour (MBF) lamp.

The column's door is upside-down - the slotted lock should be situated towards the bottom of the door - this could be why the door is secured using cable ties.
