24. The Ridings, Ockbrook. Many of the columns around here are the original cast iron types, as made in Derby, and designed for gas lighting. These were cast by the Phoenix foundry, and all must be well over 100 years old. Swan necks and control boxes have been added since their installation, in order to accommodate electric lighting; most probably ESLAs at first, followed by Beta 5s in the 1980s, and Phosco P852s in the mid-late 2010s, with the finials having been removed, in order to accommodate the side-entry lanterns.

     

 

 

This example has a Revo control box, and the Beta 5 (when fitted) had an RTE Oasis 1000 photocell installed.
