27. Buxton. Around the Pavilion Gardens are some aged Arc columns, similar to the ones seen in #4. These columns have very decorative bases, with the Derbyshire 'Buck in the Park' symbol made into the casting, with Latin words encircling it. Modern heritage lanterns are now installed, however on the main road, Thorn Alpha 8s are installed on brackets that look as if they could at one time have been used as tram/trolleybus support pylons. Certainly, I can remember this being the case at Crich Tramway Village, but I don't think a lantern is used.
