91. High Street, Ticknall. Adjacent the Chequers public house is a GEC Z8896 lantern mounted on a 6m tubular steel column. Today, a SON-I lamp is fitted - however it may well originally have run a mercury lamp. Control is provided by a two-part cell these days; though it might have been controlled by a time switch when new. This lantern is a one-off in the village - the rest have all been replaced with Thorn Beta 79s and Philips MI 55s. The installation is in good condition - there is some minor corrosion on the bracket and the bowl is yellowed - but apart from that, everything looks fine.
