97b. Bird Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire. Located near where the road becomes Beacon Street is an ELECO HW-509 lantern - one of several that can still be found around the city. The lantern is in excellent condition - the bowl is intact and is virtually free of clouding. A two-part cell has been fitted at some point but this is hardly visible from ground level. The lantern would originally have used a 140 Watt SO/I lamp but is now fitted with a 90 Watt SOX.

This installation had been replaced in its entirety by July 2016.
