9b. Derwent Court, Willington. On a footpath between some of the houses is a 35 Watt SOX Eleco GR 501 on a short concrete bracket, possibly an old mercury one. The bracket is spalling quite badly, and now the column is slightly cracked at the spigot. The column is too far away from the car park and so it is probably a 'ladder job' when a lamp change is needed. With the spalling being present, the authority may have decided that it is too risky to have engineers climbing ladders against the column in case it gave way; and so a new CU drop down column has been positioned, and an XGS 103 has been fitted.

The old column has now been removed (9th October 2004).
