This elliptical lamp features an unusual pearl coating to the outer bulb - it is believed that the machinery used by Atlas in the 1960s to make their 80W pearl mercury lamps was re-used in order to produce these SON lamps.

Date code 20 = August 1983 (Leicester, UK); came with the Thorn Precinct bulkhead.
