Prior to the new lighting being installed, two cast iron columns supporting Thorn Beta 5s existed; one top-entry; the other-side entry and fitted with a bowl too shallow for the lantern. The new lighting scheme saw the number of columns installed along the road almost quadruple. Click here to see a (very brief!) video of the lighting along the road.
