Local Urbis Altras

Only a single Altra exists on Derbyshire's roads, and even this example shouldn't really be there - it was installed on a new 6 m column by a third-party contractor when the existing column on the Heanor Gate Road industrial estate required removal, in order to facilitate the construction of a new site entrance. A WRTL Arc lantern running a 70 Watt SON-T lamp should have been installed on the new column.

Although this Altra is the only known example in Derbyshire, across the border in Staffordshire, it is a very common lantern.

A 55 Watt PL-L lamp is fitted. A Zodion SS4D 70 Lux photocell controls the lantern's operation.
