Local GEC Z8896s
The Z8896 is the last Group 'B' side-entry, gear-in-base mercury lantern which can be seen on public roads in Derbyshire - I only know of two and both of these have been converted to run more modern lamps. Where examples have existed, lanterns such as the Thorn Beta 79 have now been fitted instead.
This Z8896 in Rosliston is fitted with a 70w CDO-ET lamp. Click here for more information.
This Z8896 in Ticknall is fitted with a 70w SON-T lamp. Click here for more information.
