Off Uttoxeter Road / Harvey Road, Armitage with Handsacre, Lichfield, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of these Survivors. Two very different, but notable, installations are to be found in this area; firstly, on a track leading to a small number of houses, a wooden pole of approximately 8 m in height can be found. At the top of the pole, an AC Ford bracket and fuse / control gear box supporting a GEC Z9530 lantern, for 35 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamps, remains installed. This is a rather excessive mounting height for this lantern, although it was probably always a private installation, and may even have been installed here second-hand to provide illumination to the former Armitage F.C. Social Club that used to exist on land immediately north of the track. The area is now occupied by the modern Water's Edge housing development, but the installation was never removed as part of this work, meaning that it has probably lain disconnected and abandoned since the early 2000s. The second installation on Harvey Road comprises a 15 ft (5 m) Stanton 10 concrete column supporting a Thorn Gamma 6 post-top lantern, with this particular version also being wired to run a 35 W SOX lamp. The lantern is in poor condition, with its bowl missing completely, and its internal wiring having been pulled loose.

The Z9530's positioning looks peculiar in the modern day, owing to it facing away from the track. This roadway seems to have been part of the Social Club site prior to the construction of the houses.

Disappearing wood pigeon aside, two cables can be seen entering the underside of the AC Ford box, suggesting that there may have been multiple lights installed here in the past.

The years of disuse have resulted in the Z9530's polycarbonate bowl becoming very grubby internally.

The presence of cable clips on the pole that no longer support a cable suggests that further modifications occurred to this installation at some point.

When viewing the lantern from the other direction, the silhouette of a lamp can be seen within it. The detector for a Royce Thompson P42 two-part photocell is installed towards the rear of the canopy.

The concrete column is situated in the centre of a small communal verge area.

While the bowl is no more, a lamp is still fitted, though as many of the internal wires are cut, the lantern will not work, in its current state.

A Zodion miniature photocell is installed in the lantern's canopy.

The lamp looks very worn, so probably wouldn't work even if the lantern's innards were all still intact.
