Off Glan-y-Mor Road, Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno Junction, Penrhyn-Side, Conwy With thanks to LeoLampposts for discovering these Survivors. Located in the grounds of St David's Church (Eglwys Dewi Sant) is a short (approximately 3 m) tubular steel post supporting a Falks 'Beaufort' utilitarian post-top lantern - probably, the S.93880F, which featured a 20 inch (508 mm) diameter canopy, Perspex bowl and internal prismatic glass refractor. This could accommodate GLS (incandescent tungsten filament) lamps of power outputs up to 200 Watt, along with 80 - 125 Watt MBF (mercury vapour), but this particular type could not accommodate 45 - 60 Watt SO/H / SOI/H (low pressure sodium) lamps as sister versions that featured full-length bowl cones could; the Perspex bowls being too short.
The church's architecture is in harmony with the Beaufort lantern, and both are likely to be of the same age.
The Perspex bowl has become slightly translucent through age, although it remains transparent enough to reveal that the lamp looks to have fallen from its holder.
Using the sun to create internal silhouettes, the lamp does still appear to be inside the bowl, along with (possibly) the refractor too.
Another notable light to be found within the church grounds is this conical projector floodlight, which is positioned to illuminate the decorative cross and tower that is constructed alongside the main church building.
The floodlight appears to be a Thorn M25F fitting, and an elliptical discharge lamp is visible within it.
