133. Civic Way, Swadlincote Still extant along this road (as of November 2009) are a number of Stanton 1808 8M unsleeved concrete columns, with the majority supporting Thorn Alpha 9 90W SOX lanterns (although the lanterns attached to the columns surrounding the Derby Road / Coppice Side / Vicarage Gardens / Church Street roundabout are Thorn Alpha 8s running 150W SON). The columns are all in excellent condition; none show any signs of spalling around the bracket joint. Thankfully, despite the abundance of Thorn equipment, along with the name of the road, Thorn Civic lanterns are not installed on any of the columns in the vicinity!
