Off Bridgnorth Road, Hills Lane, Sutton Hill, Madeley, Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire With thanks to LeoLampposts for informing me of these Survivors. Attached to a rather Heath-Robinson bracket at the start of the Court 2000 Industrial Estate (historically, the site of Court Works Iron Foundry, with the metalwork quite possibly fabricated there, as the foundry is still believed to have been in operation in 1985) are two Thorn Precinct bulkheads with post-top adaptors fitted. Although the Precinct was designed to run 80 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamps originally, later, it also gained a SON (high pressure sodium) option, though these particular examples pre-date this additional option becoming available.

The column is a section of 76 mm (3 inch) diameter tubular steel pipe with a u-shaped steel channel welded to that, and then two short further lengths of pipe welded above to serve as supports for the Precincts. The supply cable for the lights is surface-mounted to the structure, and a T-shaped conduit box allows the cable to split to enable it to feed both fittings.

The bowl from the left-hand example is missing completely, and the lamp is smashed. The metal identification label identifies this as an earlier example, and states that the fitting ran an 80 Watt MBF lamp, as stated above.

A Fisher-Karpark SS4 photocell fitted to a wall bracket NEMA socket is positioned between the two Precincts.

The right-hand Precinct's bowl is also damaged, though not as severely as its counterpart's was at the time of photographing.
