London Underground...in Derby! |
Bakerloo |
Who says that the Underground is only for Londoners? Despite being Derby born and bred, from an early age, I gained an interest in this unusual railway system, but only in the last few years has this interest escalated (no pun intended!) to the level where I felt compelled to dedicate some web space to this essential method of public transport in England’s capital. In order for the text in this section of the site to appear correctly, I recommend that you download and install an open-source version of the classic New Johnston typeface This can be done by clicking here. The most recent updates to this section are: Aldwych station tour page updated with new images and video footage. Central line page updated with details of a tour of the hidden parts of Shepherd’s Bush station. Elizabeth line page updated with images and video of the underground section of the line, following its opening in May 2022. Jubilee line page updated with items of PPE dating from the Extension’s construction. Northern line gallery page updated with images of the new concourse at Bank Station. Piccadilly line page updated with two tiles from Knightsbridge station saved into the Collection. |
